Saeideh Esmaeili - Homepage

Dr. Esmaeili works as a research scientist at the Natural Resource Ecology Laboratory at Colorado State University. Her primary focus is studying animal-habitat relationships, spatial ecology, and ungulate movements, with a special emphasis on wild and feral equids. During her Ph.D. studies at the University of Wyoming, she concentrated on human dimensions, resource competition, and habitat selection of the endangered onager (Equus hemionus onager) in central Iran. Currently, she is a collaborator at the U.S. Geological Survey, Fort Collins Science Center investigating ecology and resource selection of feral horses and burros, which directly affects conservation and management of their habitats. More broadly, she studies factors that affect space use, diet, and movement of animals, as well as their interactions with other species and humans within their habitats. She is a member of IUCN/SSC Equid Specialist Group and contributes to conservation of wild equids worldwide.
