About AgroecosystemsThe agroecosystem research group at NREL is devoted to understanding how agricultural management practices impact agroecosystem biogeochemistry. Our research projects range from investigations of basic fine-scale soil organic matter dynamics, to ecosystem modeling, to national and international assessments. Agroecosystems contribute a substantial amount to the US and other national greenhouse gas budgets and much of our research is focused on how agricultural and pastoral practices impact greenhouse gas fluxes into and out of agroecosystems.
