Analytical Laboratories

Studies at NREL range from those examining fine-scale processes, such as the impacts of agricultural management on fine-scale variation in soil structure (right), to much broader scales, like the entire Loch Vale watershed (left). Accordingly, our analytical laboratory facilities at NREL are diverse enough to span these many orders of magnitude.

Specific facilities include:

• Soil and plant sample preparation and processing
• Colorado State University Laboratory for Environmental Mass Spectrometry (CLEMS) facility
• Water chemistry / dissolved organic compounds
• CN Laboratory: Soil and plant carbon / nitrogen analyses
